I have been living at 14 West Elm for some time now, and overall my experience has been excellent. The building is well-maintained, ... clean, and feels safe — the secure entry and attentive staff really make a difference. I especially appreciate the comfort and quality of the apartment units; they are spacious, modern, and well-designed. The management and maintenance teams are responsive and professional. Whenever I’ve had a question or maintenance request, they’ve addressed it quickly and with a friendly attitude. The amenities are also a great bonus — they add convenience and enhance everyday living. Overall, 14 West Elm is a great place to call home. This is my second year living here and I have loved it so far. The room sizes are very spacious and there are so many closets/extra ... storage space that other buildings don’t typically have in the unit. The gym and laundry room are always kept clean! Anytime I’ve needed maintenance they are quick to respond and solve any problems that may arise (which aren’t many). Overall the location is great and the building is even better! Throughout my years living at 14 West there's many pros and a few cons. Starting with the pros, location is excellent in ... the heart of downtown Surrounded by shopping, many restaurants, a variety of grocery stores. You have everything you need at your fingertips. Another is transportation, you have cta buses and the red line within walking distance of your door. The staff is very friendly and helpful giving you that family vibe. Maintenance needs always answered in a timely manner not to include they always go the extra mile. Now for the cons, cleanliness needs some reviewing. A few suggestions would be, keeping the building up even when housekeeper is not here on her days off, or after all staff is gone. Another suggestion would be more priorities for the doorman since some of his duties have been relieved. Example cleaning front door glass making sure elevators are clean. Leaving the lobby in tip top throughout the night. Those are just a few suggestions that I have noticed throughout my time living here that need reviewing. The building has everything I need: a ... friendly staff that always goes the extra mile, a prompt, professional maintenance team, laundry facilities, a gym, a rooftop deck, grills, and more. It also has the best location, being in the heart of the Gold Coast with easy access to all of Chicago's finest dining, shopping, clubs, and entertainment. I have been living here for two and half years and it has been a good experience. The place is at a great location with affordable ... rates. During my time, I have seen the management change twice. However, the current building manager, John, is absolutely fantastic. The entire staff under him has been great. The building can do some improvements on the Gym and heating system. this has been my first and only apartment in chicago and i'm on year 3 of living here. greg the doorman is THE MAN! honestly ... at this point, he's more of a friend than a doorman. john the property manager is the nicest person in the world. everyone in the office is so friendly and helpful. the maintenance workers are great and attend to things basically the day you need it done. the building frequently throws mixers for its residents and occasionally a restaurant or company will be handing out free food in the lobby. the building itself often provides donuts and coffee on the weekends. this building is in the middle of everything! you're close to the lake, the viagra triangle, the red line, old town, division street bars, etc... the rooftop deck is pretty sweet.
